What's ownership like?
Racehorse ownership is a dream for most people, but the advent of racing syndicates has made owning a racehorse much more affordable and accessible than it has been in the past.
Owning a racehorse with Hambleton Racing is an exciting and special experience with an enjoyable social side. Quite simply, it puts the thrill of owning a winning racehorse firmly within your grasp.
We remove all the complications of ownership, leaving you to savour the fun, the excitement, and maybe the glory.
How do Hambleton syndicates work?
Hambleton Racing operates racing syndicates with a maximum of twelve owners but our aim is to make all our owners feel like the sole owner of their horse, whilst making the racehorse ownership experience enjoyable and carefree.
We can guarantee you a great time. You’ll forge friendships with like-minded people as you share the highs and lows of racehorse ownership.
Aiming for success
We are committed to providing our owners with success. To this end we have carefully selected top trainer Kevin Ryan to train all the horses, from his training base just outside Thirsk in North Yorkshire.
Kevin, who is friendly and approachable, has achieved success at the highest level within recent years and is well known for improving horses from other trainers. His appetite for hard work and attention to detail go some way to explaining why he trains so many winners and why so many horses go on to fulfil their potential for him.
Once an owner
From the moment you become a racehorse owner, Hambleton Racing’s friendly, dedicated and experienced team will be on your side. We’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest developments and plans for your horse, through frequent phone calls and the owners‘ area of our regularly updated website.
A complimentary, professionally taken and mounted photo of your horse, taken by Hambleton Racing's official photographer, will be taken as part your racehorse's all-complimentary naming day.
The naming day includes a private coffee reception, trip to the gallops and pictures in the yard before returning to the Hambleton Inn where the result of the naming vote will be announced by pub landlord Paul Cooper to a champagne toast.
Any queries? Let our friendly team help via the owner’s freephone service - after all your the owner and we‘re here to help - seven days a week.
Historic and beautiful, Hambleton stables
Regular visits to Hambleton Lodge Stables, once the site of a racecourse and steeped in history, offer the chance to meet your trainer and horse in a more relaxed environment.
These outings will not only give you a great insight into life in a busy racing yard, but also prove a memorable day as you head on to the picturesque gallops to watch your horse flex his muscles.
The racecourse experience
As an owner you will receive two complimentary badges every time your horse runs, whether it be at Ascot, Ayr or even abroad.
Your badges give you access all areas on the racecourse so relax in the owners’ bar and enjoy being in the parade ring. As the race-going public try to assess your horse, you’ll be deep in conversation about him and his chances with your leading trainer and jockey.
From there head to the owners’ viewing area with your fellow syndicate owners to watch your horse run and, with a bit of luck, welcome him back into the winner's enclosure where that special moment will be captured forever on camera.
After a post-race briefing from your trainer and jockey, share your feelings about the day with your fellow owners, many of whom are likely to become close friends, as you enjoy great days on and off the racecourse together.
