With the weather once again kind for a Hambleton naming day, owners of the two-year-old by Johannesburg, soon to be named Majuba, arrived at Hambleton on Wednesday for their colt's naming day.
Owners gathered together at The Hambleton Inn, opened specially for the morning, and enjoyed coffee and tea before being driven up to the gallops to see their horse in action (as pictured below).

Majuba struts his stuff on the gallops.
Once on the gallops, owners watched an older horse lead Majuba and another nice two-year-old of Kevin's Rievaulx World, breeze ahead of the main string.
Majuba looked in fine form and his owners will not have to wait too long to see him in action, with his debut likely to come with the next week or so.

Once his owners had returned from the gallops, Majuba, who, like his father, can some times be rather a handful at home, posed like a gentleman for his naming day pictures with Justin, who was also making his naming day debut, while Hambleton Racing's photographer, Keith Robinson, took complimentary pictures for all.
After seeing Majuba up close and personal, owners retired to the pub for the complimentary naming meal and drinks ahead the most important part of the day - the naming announcement from landlord Paul Cooper.

John and Karen get to know Majuba, who was on his best behaviour!
Paul welcomed a group of mainly returning owners to the Hambleton before announcing the name of Majuba to a champagne toast.
With his name in place and his preparations going well, the fun and excitement will step up a gear soon when Majuba takes to the racecourse.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish Majuba and his owners the very best of luck.

Majuba's owners toast his name outside the Hambleton.
With all the Hambleton two-year-olds now named and ready to roll attention now turns to our next two-year-old, who will be purchased at Doncaster's Breeze Up sale.
