Gold has Cheltenham date

It’s been a great year for Shifting Gold and his owners who have tasted success together four times already during 2011.

The tough five-year-old has done really well this year winning twice on the level and twice over hurdles to take his career win tally to eight.

His latest win came at Sedgefield in September and Shifty ran well at the same track on his most recent start when hitting the frame in a strong novice hurdle.

The form of that race has been well advertised since with the runner-up winning twice and Shifting Gold is all set to tackle some more undulations next month, though this time at Cheltenham where he and regular partner Brian Toomey will team up for Conditional Riders Handicap Hurdle on the Friday of the big November meeting.

It promises to be a very exciting day for all the syndicate as they compete at a meeting which traditionally brings together some of best talent on both sides of the Irish Sea.
