Here come the girls!

04/09/10

We're delighted that details of the two fillies that joined us from the DBS Premier Yearling Sales last month are now on line.

This time last year a filly joined the Hambleton ranks by Sleeping Indian from Doncaster's prolific sale. In time her owners were to christen her Shoshoni Wind and the rest, as they say, is history with the filly rated 94 and already Listed placed having taken her owners racing at Ascot, Newbury, Newmarket and York's Ebor meeting.

She heads for a Group 3 race at Ayr's Western meeting later this month and those that have already secured a share in this year's Sleeping Indian filly, who is a half-sister to a Listed placed filly herself, will be hoping for a similarly exciting story.

The other filly to join us is by the exciting Oratorio, very much a sire of the moment having this year's leading two-year-old King Torus amongst his second crop and Beethoven, placed fourth in this year's Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes after winning the Group 1 Dewhurst last year, advertising his quality.

She is a half-sister to the 90-rated Mappin Time and her pedigree received a nice boost when that horse won a hot conditions race at Ripon earlier this week. Thankfully, the yearling by Oratorio was secured at Doncaster before Mappin Time's significant win.

Both fillies are qualified for the £300,000 DBS Premier Yearling Stakes at next year's York Ebor meeting and look exciting additions to the squad.

At this stage that last available shares in the Sleeping Indian filly are held under option by our owners though there is availability in the filly by Oratorio.

Both fillies are currently turned out at the Cliff Stud, where they will enjoy a quiet few weeks ahead of entering Kevin's yard to begin their racehorse careers.
