New surface for indoor school

04/11/11

Investment in facilities is ever-important for successful trainers and Kevin’s constant drive for more winners means he is as keen as any trainer to update and improve facilities when and where possible.

In fairness, with an indoor school, state of the art treadmill, private all-weather gallop, on site veterinary room and three horse walkers, Kevin’s facilities are excellent but that doesn’t mean a let up in the drive to consistently improve and to that end Kevin has just replaced the surface in the indoor school with a polytrack-style surface.

The indoor school may be one of the less flashy parts of the yard but serves a vital purpose, providing a good warm up area, keeping the horses well exercised in adverse weather, not to metion being used for preparing the yearlings during the breaking in process.

The new surface will be slightly less taxing than the older surface and while subtle, highlights the continuing drive for perfection at Hambleton.

One of the first horses to benefit from the new facility has been our yearling by Red Clubs, who is pictured below being lunged by stable apprentice Julie Burke.
