Kevin Ryan's ability at improving horses is well documented and a perfect case in point is Friday impressive Goodwood winner, Perfect Blossom.
The three-year-old filly, rated just 56 when arriving at the start of the year, has gone from strength to strength since arriving at Hambleton, winning four of her five starts before heading to Glorious Goodwood under Amy Ryan, who had ridden the filly to her previous win at Epsom.
The pair showed blistering early speed to head off a competitive field before travelling well to halfway, from there the daughter of One Cool Cat was given her head by Amy and the pair quickly found a few lengths on their rivals before sticking on really well in the final furlong.
The win was not only a significant one for Perfect Blossom but also for Amy Ryan, who has now ridden winners at Newmarket's July meeting and Glorious Goodwood.
The in-form and talented apprecntice is very close to riding out her 5lb claim in what is fast turning into a year to remember.
