Up-and-coming trainer David O'Meara joined the Hambleton Racing trainer ranks in 2012.
David's results have been quite remarkable since he saddled his first runner in June 2010.
No less than 26 winners were secured during his first six months of holding a full training licence while less than two years later the Helmsley-based trainer is beginning to close in on the 100 winner mark.
Incredibly, during this time David has already enjoyed Group race success via Blue Bajan, whom he guided to new career heights at the age of nine.
£75,000 Ascot handicap winner Smarty Socks, who was finishing tailed off at Southwell before coming David's guidance, Great St Wilfrid handicap winner Pepper Lane, a 40lb improver for David and Summer Hurdle winner Viva Colonia, a hurdler who has shot up over three stone in the ratings in just over a year at Helmsley, all advertise the skills of the young Irish man.
David also hinted he has the midas touch with his young horses when getting the chance to train his first two-year-olds in 2011, winning the £10,000 Racing Post Yearling with bargain buys Kool Henry (3,800 euros, rated 87) and Elusive Bonus (2,200 euros).
A very approachable trainer, David continued his great results at the start of 2012 when Penitent won a Listed race for him on his first start for the yard.
