Hambleton Racing owners smiling and socialising at Doncaster Owners Day

2026 Doncaster Owners’ Day – review

What’s Hambleton Racing’s Owners’ Day about? It’s about friendship and enjoyment. It’s about coming together with loved ones to make special memories.

While racing is, of course, at the heart of the day, our Owners’ Day is about much more than simply watching the action on track.

Our 2026 Owners’ Day, held for the 15th consecutive year at Doncaster, once again proved an event to remember owners joined us in the best seats in the house to enjoy some great racing and fun together.

The all-complimentary day featured everything we hope to deliver for our owners – excellent food, quality racing, plenty of fun and laughter, along with valuable funds raised for our charity partner, Racing Welfare.

Whether an expert or a novice, confident or shy, every owner is welcome with Hambleton.

What makes Hambleton Racing’s Owners’ Day special

Since launching our first horse racing syndicate over 20 years ago, we’ve prided ourselves on making everyone feel welcome and getting to know each owner as an individual.

Few events capture the spirit of Hambleton Racing quite like Owners’ Day, as people from all walks of life come together to enjoy an informal, welcoming and memorable afternoon.

Nothing captures what the day is about quite like the photographs. The gallery below offers just a glimpse, and it’s genuinely humbling to see so many people sharing such a great time at our favourite event of the year.

The day began with a drinks reception, with owners granted early access to the course ahead of it officially opening.

Once everyone was assembled our Director Of Racing, Simon Turner, welcomed everyone to the room and took the audience through all the news from Hambleton’s trainers, and all the other goings on of the day.

Highlights from the day at Doncaster Racecourse

Our guest speaker, ITV’s Luke Harvey, was great fun, entertaining guests ahead of racing with colourful tales from his early days as an inexperienced jockey through to the present day.

Feedback on the menu was excellent, while we were also incredibly grateful for owners’ generosity in helping to raise valuable funds for Racing Welfare through our charity raffle.

As the day progressed a tremendous atmosphere developed in the box, with laughter and smiles on view all around the room. It was a lovely occasion, that always reminds the Hambleton team why we love what we do so much.

A celebration of owners, racing and community

With many Hambleton horses set to be active in the coming weeks, there was plenty to discuss and look forward to as the afternoon unfolded.

The start of the Flat season is a special time in the calendar and it’s always lovely to come together with our owners ahead of the annual rollercoaster setting off for another year.

As ever, there will be highs and lows along the way, and they are moments we’ll hopefully continue to share together while enjoying the journey.

On a memorable afternoon, it was great to see new friendships forming alongside established relationships, all within the relaxed and welcoming environment that Hambleton Racing’s owners value so highly.

It was particularly noticeable how many owners spoke about reconnecting with friends from past syndicates, while many newer owners enjoyed their first taste of what racehorse ownership with Hambleton is all about.

On behalf of the Hambleton team, we’d like to say a big thank you to all our owners, not only for all the kind words about the day but also for helping make the day the big success it was.

Since the Doncaster Owners’ Day, we’ve been delighted to receive so many kind messages. Hearing how much owners enjoyed the day is always genuinely rewarding for the team

The task now is to make sure next year’s event is even better!
