Arctic completes Haydock double

21st May 2021

The Archie Watson horses continue in fine form with Arctic Emperor completing a Haydock double for us this afternoon at Haydock.

The son of Territories had ran well on all his starts to date and broke his maiden with a thoroughly likeable and game success at Haydock, staying on gamely to get on top of the hot favourite in the closing stages.

Arctic Emperor was never stronger than at the line and looks a horse with much more to offer for his horse racing syndicate going forward.

The ground at Haydock was described as heavy and with the rain still falling as they entered the closing stages Arctic had to show great battling qualities and a will to win to prevail.

Arctic’s win completed a fine Haydock double for Hambleton’s owners at Haydock with our two runners both claiming top honours on the day after Twilight Spinner’s impressive success earlier on the card when running right away with the Listed Cecil Frail Stakes.

With owners now back in the paddock and winners’ enclosure, the double was all the more special with our owners enjoying getting back into the paddock to see their horse and jockey, and get that all-important feedback after the race.

Our horses have been in top form right from the start of the season and we’re now looking forward to an exciting weekend ahead with further big race action to come at the Curragh and at Goodwood, not mention runners at Lingfield and York too.

Here’s hoping for some more great results for our owners as Glen Shiel and Co take to the turf.
