Autonomy impressive
16th March 2021
The horses continue in great form with Autonomy impressive in success at Southwell this afternoon.
The son of Dansili could hardly be better bred being a half brother to Derby winner Authorized but has started life in rating-related company off a basement mark, courtesy of some modest form for his previous yard.
Phil Kirby has given the strapping five-year-old plenty of time and his patience is really starting to pay dividends now as Autonomy made it two wins in as many starts for Phil today, coping well with the switch to fibresand to run out a comfortable winner.
Autonomy was always holding odds-on favourite up the straight and ran right away in the closing stages to register an impressive success for his horse racing syndicate.
Phil has given Autonomy entries at Southwell on Friday and it may well be the strapping sort will be turned out quickly looking for another success as he’ll escape a penalty as today’s win was an apprentice race.
Joe Williamson, better known for his exploits over obstacles for Phil, handled Autonomy very well on a rare Flat ride, the pair coming home well clear of their toiling rivals.
With Autonomy impressive and entered again this week, it might well be his owners have the chance to enjoy another run from him later this week.
Wherever he heads next, Autonomy certainly looks a horse to keep on the right side of.
