Belsito wins at Redcar

Belsito shows great attitude

13th September 2022

Kevin Ryan has been finding our owners quality horses for nearly 20 years and looks to have repeated the trick in the shape of Belsito, who showed a great attitude to gain his first success at Redcar.

The son of Aerion had shaped well at Ayr on his debut before his saddle slipped on his second start. Thankfully everything went to plan this time around with Belsito jumping well from the stalls under Kevin Stott.

The pair travelled well through the race before Belsito responded generously to his rider’s urgings in the final furlong to get on top in the closing stages and win in pleasing fashion for his horse racing syndicate.

Kevin Stott reported he really liked the way Belsito had knuckled down when he had to, feeling his mount was quite green and that once he’d had something to race with, he had matters under control.

Trainer Kevin Ryan, on hand with owners to see Belsito win, has an unbelievable record for us with these breeze up recruits – this latest success means 11 of Kevin’s last 12 breeze-up recruits have gone on to win for our owners!

Kevin was delighted with Belsito’s win and sees him as a raw horse and one who is only going to improve as he gets older.

That’s a tantalising prospect for Belsito’s owners who clearly have a nice prospect on their hands in this promising colt.

His owners really enjoyed this first success. We look forward to seeing what heights their exciting horse can scale next year!
