Blink and you’ll miss him!
4th March 2024
There’s little doubt Dyrholaey is a name to remember. Blink and you’ll miss him was the line watching the closing section of his second win this evening, and what an impressive win it was.
Trainer Archie Watson has always held the son of City Light in some regard and it was great to see him show such pleasing progress from his first start to his second as he routed the opposition to win by a wide margin under a delighted Hollie Doyle.
A decent break from the stalls showed how much Dyrholaey had learned from his first outing when successful at Chelmsford and from then on there appeared little doubt that this exciting colt would prevail.
Rounding the home turn with her rivals struggling, Hollie turned the screw and Dyrholaey powered clear to a wide margin win to the delight of his horse racing syndicate.
A quick witted onlooker grabbed a short clip of the closing stages of Dyrholaey’s final furlong, which was quickly captioned blink and you'll miss him, such was the impressive visual performance as our easy winner streaked clear.
Those members of his horse racing syndicate present to greet him into the winners enclosure, were treated to some very positive feedback from Hollie after the race as she explained to owners just how easy the success had been.
With Dyrholaey delivering on the expectation of Archie and Hollie and now boasting a perfect record after his first two starts, his owners clearly have much to look forward to moving forwards.
It will be fascinating to see where Archie points him next!
