Archie has a perfect record with Dandy Man colts since he started training – all six of them have been winners, and at a good level too.

This colt stood out to Archie and his bloodstock team at the Somerville Yearling Sales.

A big, strong individual, he vetted notably well, getting the only ‘smart’ comment from Archie’s preferred vet at the sales, from a good number of horses we vetted.

He’s by a sire that gets any number of high-class sprinters, such as Group 1 winners Big Time Baby and Peniaphobia, who have both earned millions winning big races in Hong Kong.

As one of the standout physicals in the sale we thought we’d struggle to buy him with a budget 45,000gns and couldn’t believe our luck when the hammer came down at less than a third of that price at 14,000gns!

The other colts Archie liked that passed the vet tests all made well beyond our budget emphasising what massive value this colt represented.

Archie sees him as a strong sprinting two-year-old for next year and a horse who should give our owners a lot of fun.

Because of his sales price he’ll be able to race in Band D restricted races next year. Archie mentioned the Super Sprint as a likely target, a race in which he saddled the runner-up this year and the winner last year.

Archie likes to buy into young, unexposed families and this colt fits the bill nicely being from the family of two-year-old Group winner Dolled Up, out of a mare who finished runner-up at York on her two-year-old debut.

He's colt who walks for fun and has loads of substance, and a great example of a sire Archie has a perfect record with.
