This two-year-old filly made a most promising debut at Newcastle on June 2nd when fourth in a red-hot novice.
Stable jockey Danny Tudhope really liked her opening effort and reported afterwards he could have been closer if giving her a harder race.
With the time of the race the fastest of the four two-year-old races on the day and the winner being strongly touted for Royal Ascot, this was a very promising debut.
David O'Meara was delighted with her opening run and feels Country Carnival is sure to improve for the run and have no problem breaking her maiden soon before stepping up in grade.
Country Carnival also caught the eye of the experts at Timeform who say 'sure to do better'.
She looks a typical example of her sire, July Cup winner Mayson, who's responsible for lots of good horses, such as our very own Maystar, who won the prestigious Al Rayyan Stakes in Doha in December.
She's the first foal to race from black-type filly Rural Celebration, who hails from a great family of solid, quality horses who's hallmark is toughness and a will to win. Notably tough, the Listed placed seven-time winner won in every season she raced and placed a further 15 times.
David feels Country Carnival has inherited plenty of her mother's traits, notably her speed and a great attitude in all she does.
In summary, this is an opportunity to get involved with a filly who showed abundant promise on debut and is regarded as a sure-fire winner with a nice future by those closest to her.
