Canny’s first hurdling win

She’s as tough and genuine as they come so after schooling well at home there was never much doubt Canny Style would adapt to hurdling well.

A cracking first run over hurdles when runner-up at Carlisle was a good start and it got even better at Musselburgh yesterday as Canny jumped well en route to her first success over hurdles.

Brian Hughes was always travelling quite well and Canny needed to show all her trademark qualities in the closing stages as the physically bigger runner-up leaned notably  into her at times.

She might have been the smaller of the principals but Canny has never lacked anything in heart and once Brian organised her after the last the daughter of Canford Cliffs was always going to prevail.

The success means Canny Style has now won six races in the Hambleton colours.

It’s highly likely she’ll be adding to that number in the coming months!
