Chriszoff lead in win enc Ponte

Chriszoff back to winning ways

28th September 2023

There’s little doubt Chriszoff is a horse with a big engine and the likeable three-year-old was back to winning ways in Pontefract’s feature race on Thursday.

A progressive horse throughout the season, Chriszoff has improved his form level with every start this year and did exactly that again as he registered his fourth win from just six starts to date.

Always travelling well under Rossa Ryan, Chriszoff made his move in the home straight and briefly looked vulnerable as the challengers came to him, but this most likeable individual showed a tremendous attitude to knuckle down and run on strongly to gain a narrow but decisive success.

His rider felt there was a good bit more to come and couldn’t pull Chriszoff up going away from the stands – a very positive sign that this highly rated and talented horse has even more to offer.

The three-year-old is a fine advert for the training skills of trainer Archie Watson who exercised patience when this horse needed to mature last year and his horse racing syndicate are now reaping the benefits.

Everything points to this most progressive horse doing even better moving forwards and we look forward to seeing what comes next now Chriszoff is back to winning ways.
