Diva and Spain double up
26th January 2024
Our flying start to 2024 continued at Southwell yesterday where Musical Diva and Pride Of Spain provided a double for their owners.
We didn’t have to wait long to be in the winners enclosure with Musical Diva lining up in the opening race of the day at 11.25.
Once the race was off, owners didn’t have to wait long to learn their fate either as Diva travelled notably well before powering away from her toiling rivals in the final furlong under Danny Tudhope.
This made it back-to-back wins for Musical Diva and her horse racing syndicate and now the well-bred daughter of James Garfield has clicked she appears likely to keep giving her horse racing syndicate plenty of fun from here.
Thriving at present, the two-time winner is likely to be out again early next month bidding to build further on the excellent run of form.
After the impressive win of Musical Diva, Pride Of Spain was the next to come home in front, travelling well in the first-time hood under Luke Morris before asserting and coming home to win well in the first division of the seven-furlong handicap.
Picked up for just 2,000gns at the Horse In Training Sales, Pride has proved a solid, fun horse this winter and was hardly winning out of turn following good runs at Chelmsford and Wolverhampton recently.
The wins of Musical Diva and Pride Of Spain provided our first double of 2024 and continued the fast start the Hambleton horses have made to the New Year.
We’ve a lovely team of horses to enjoy this year with some particularly nice two-year-olds to look forward to once the turf season is up and running.
In the meantime, our solid winter team is likely to keep providing owners with plenty of fun.
