Dress impresses
10th March 2020
He’s not been with us long, but Highland Dress has made an impressive start to his career with Archie Watson, following up Sunday’s debut second with a cosy win at Southwell today.
The well bred four-year-old joined Archie from last year’s horses in training sales and is quickly proving to be another shrewd acquisition by Archie.
Following an excellent debut on Sunday, where Highland Dress showed a strong level of form, the lightly raced improver always looked in control as he dominated his rivals in the straight to come home a cosy winner off a mark of 86.
Stable apprentice Pierre-Louis Jamin gave Highland a polished ride, with the pair smooth winners at the line from the this winter’s multiple winner Split Down South.
With the front pair pulling well clear this was clearly another improved effort from Highland Dress.
His horse racing syndicate owners have clearly got a progressive four-year-old on their hands, and a horse who should give them a lot of fun throughout the year.
