Easy win for Chiefman
26th March 2024
A first handicap win proved very easy for Chiefman at Newcastle yesterday afternoon as the son of Cracksman scored by a wide margin at Gosforth Park.
A lovely three-year-old with plenty of stature, it's likely he was a little too weak last year to do himself justice but after strengthening well over the winter Chiefman proved a very different proposition on his first start of the year for the Archie Watson team.
Sent to the front early on by stable jockey Hollie Doyle, Chiefman soon established a lead with and raced in a lovely rhythm into the home straight.
As Hollie brought him over towards the stands side rail, Chiefman kept galloping on strongly and it quickly became apparent that he was in complete control.
It was great to see this win proved so easy for Chiefman, who galloped powerfully through the line, and is likely to be out and racing again soon, bidding to add further gains for his horse racing syndicate, some of whom travelled on from Doncaster after our enjoyable Owners’ Day the previous day.
With an impressive physique and lovely pedigree, it will be fascinating to see how this gorgeous chestnut horse can progress through 2024.
We would like to take this chance to congratulate his horse racing syndicate on Chiefman’s first win. Here's to many more!
