A New Year is upon us but it’s reassuring to know that some things never change.
Kevin Ryan training winners for Hambleton Racing’s horse racing syndicates.
Hambleton’s horses in training recruits excelling.
These things have been happening consistently for 20 years now, with our latest such winner, Lord Capulet, breaking his maiden in game style at Newcastle on Saturday night, and in the style of a horse who can go on and do better from here.
Lord Capulet’s maiden win for Kevin
A bargain 10,000gns buy from the Tattersalls in-training sales, Lord Capulet is a very well bred horse being a half-brother to Group 1 winner Rosalion.
Clearly, the four-year-old was never going to reach those heights but our experts felt there were plenty of races to be won with him and after a break from action ahead of his New Year campaign, Lord Capulet made the best possible start to 2026 when winning in impressive fashion at Newcastle.
Breaking well from the stalls and making most of the running, the son of Make Believe showed a great attitude to repel a couple of in-form challengers in the closing stages to run out a game winner.
Prospects for Lord Capulet’s campaign in 2026
The win was particularly noteworthy with out first winner of 2026 having to set quite sharp fractions through the first half of the race before keeping on strongly late on. With that in mind, there are sound reasons for thinking Lord Capulet is a horse who’ll be capable of building on his first career win in the months ahead, which is great news for his horse racing syndicate.
We certainly hope that will prove the case and that our latest winner with Kevin Ryan can go on to enjoy a really good campaign in 2026.
A good campaign of results seems almost a given for our team with the ever-popular Kevin Ryan, a trainer who has consistently delivered good results for Hambleton’s owners for two decades.
