Glen is far too good
2nd August 2020
Glen Shiel proved far too good for his rivals in the conditions stakes at Newcastle today.
Dropped down in class after finishing runner-up at Group 3 level in France last time, Glen made no mistake, racing prominently before seeing off his challengers with ease during the closing stages.
The six-year-old continues to improve and has proved an ultra-shrewd acquisition by Archie.
Glen was ridden by Paul Mulrennan for the first time at Newcastle and its fair to say Paul was very impressed, saying Glen was a legend and very straight forward.
Of course, his horse racing syndicate were already aware of both of these things and should continue to enjoy a fine time with their pride and joy.
Glen Shiel may be seen next in the Group 3 Phoneix Stakes in Ireland next Sunday, while further Group races abroad are also under consideration.
Wherever Glen heads next he seems sure to do his owners proud, just as he has been doing all year.
Glen was certainly far too good for his rivals at this lower level. We look forward to the son of Pivotal returning to Pattern company soon, possibly next Sunday at the Curragh.
