Going Places impressive
9th January 2021
It’s great to see the horses have picked up where they left off last year, with Going Places making the perfect start for his horse racing syndicate when scoring at Lingfield this afternoon.
The striking chestnut, who only joined us in August, is an impressive horse to look at and had been pleasing Archie with his work prior to this winning debut.
Hollie Doyle has a fantastic record in the Hambleton colours and improved it still further here, quickly having Going Places in a good rhythm up front before winding up the tempo turning in to scoot right away from a small but solid field.
Going Places had fully four lengths to spare over the 82-rated runner-up at the line, keeping on strongly close home to win eased down in the style of a very nice horse.
Following on from Group 1 winner Glen Shiel (£45,000) and the Listed placed, last time out winner Highland Dress (€24,000), he looks another fantastic horses in training buy, having joined us from the Tattersalls August sales last year for just 20,000gns.
By Frankel out of Group 3 winner, he’s also a half-brother to the 105-rated Without A Fight. A huge horse who’d needed time, he boasted sound form from his two previous starts and looked exceptional value when we secured him. He looks even better value now!
His delighted horse racing syndicate might well be going places with the superbly bred five-year-old, who hopefully is just starting to deliver on his potential.
This was yet another fantastic training performance from trainer Archie Watson, who produced Going Places in typically great shape for his first run in the beige and blue.
We look forward to planning out this exciting horse’s next move with Archie.
