Hambleton Golf Day Warm Up

Hambleton launches first Charity Golf Day

13th July 2019

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our first ever Charity Golf Day in aid of The Injured Jockeys Fund at Rockliffe Hall on Tuesday 8th October.

Following a successful day supporting the Injured Jockeys Fund at their own golf day there, as per the photos, we are excited to be holding this extra social event for our owners to be involved with.

Set in Darlington, within the grounds of a five-star luxury resort, Rockliffe Hall's 18 hole championship golf course is one of the most beautiful resorts in Europe.

Alongside this exceptional North East golf course is a fully stocked Pro Shop, extensive practice facilities and driving range, a luxurious yet relaxed clubhouse and a top-quality golf services team including 4 PGA professionals.

The combination of this beautifully conditioned championship golf course and the five-star luxury resort within which it is located, makes Rockliffe Hall the perfect location for a day of golfing action.

Here at Hambleton we are keen to show our support to racing charity’s in particular and the Injured Jockeys Fund, who will be the beneficiaries of this golf day, are a charity close to our heart.

The Injured Jockeys Fund was the brainchild of founding Trustee and past President John Oaksey. Since it was founded in 1964, it has helped over 1000 jockeys and their families, paying out more than £18m in charitable assistance.

It provides appropriate support in a prompt and sympathetic manner to those jockey’s past or present who are injured, unable to ride, or generally in need.

There are now three rehabilitation centres across the country - Oaksey House in Lambourn, Jack Berry House in Malton and Peter O'Sullevan House, which is currently being completed in Newmarket, all of which aim to improve the lives of injured jockeys and their families.

We are delighted to support this fantastic charity and we hope to raise plenty of money for them during the day.

On the day itself, participants will start the day with a bacon roll and warm drinks before taking to this fantastic course.

Teams of four will take to the tees for a shotgun start at 10.30 with the best 2 scores counting on each hole. We will also be including great prizes for both nearest the pin and a longest drive competition during the rounds.

Upon arrival back at the Clubhouse, you will be treated to a tasty two-course dinner with refreshments, which is followed by a presentation and the all-important announcement of the winning team! All golfers joining us will receive a special goody bag and there will be prizes for the first three teams.

If you are interested in being part of this exciting day you can either make up your own team of four or alternatively, you can register to play and we will arrange teams of four for you, so that everyone has the chance to be involved. The cost per team of four is £350 which includes your green fees, bacon rolls and lunch after your round.

Entry forms are available from either ourselves by emailing us at [email protected] or by contacting Rockliffe Hall directly. Please note, if you require the use of a golf buggy this can be arranged at the time of registering to play.

Be sure to look out for the celebrity golfers who we are assured will also be in action on the day to lend their support to the Injured Jockeys Fund.

We look forward to seeing which of you budding golfers are able to join us for a great time on our first charity golf day.
