High-class recruit with David
10th November 2018
We’re delighted to now be able to confirm our latest recruit with David O’Meara - Remarkable.
This five-year-old is a high quality individual with some smart form on his cv. David has made a likeable habit of acquiring quality horses from the Horses In Training Sales, and was recommended Remarkable by long-standing friend Chris Richardson, who previously managed the horse for Cheveley Park Stud.
A late maturing son of the outstanding and recently retired Pivotal, he’s a big strong horse bred to thrive as he gets older.
Already boasting wins at Ascot, Doncaster and Newbury, Remarkable has the form to run well in some valuable races and has gone straight into full training with David at Willow Farm.
Some great days racing lie ahead of owners, who can expect a visit to Ascot or two, where Remarkable has already won £50,000-to-the-winner handicap, finished runner-up in the Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day, fifth in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes and sixth in a Hunt Cup, both at Royal Ascot.
Remarkable has relatively few miles on the clock for a horse of his age and has recovered well from a training injury that he suffered late last year.
A likely early season target for Remarkable is the Lincoln at Doncaster in March.
In the past four years David has saddled Horses In Training recruits to finish 2nd, 4th, 1st and 2nd in the Lincoln, with two of that quartet going on to win Group races later in the year. Other valuable handicaps are sure to be on the agenda while Remarkable’s form demands he be considered for Listed and Group 3 races too.
More details on this high-class horse can be found on David’s Available Horses page.
