Highland a class act at Lingfield
21st January 2021
Highland Dress looked a class act today at Lingfield today, building on his excellent form towards the end of 2020 with an impressive win in the day’s feature race.
The son of Shamardal is another fine advert for Archie’s skills and continues to go from strength to strength for his horse racing syndicate.
Racing off a mark of 102 after his last-time-out impressive win in a good conditions race over course and distance, Highland was soon out in front under Kieran Shoemark and never looked in much danger.
Once asked for his effort Highland Dress readily scooted lengths clear, picking up in the style of a Group horse into the home turn.
At the line Highland was a decisive two lengths clear of a pair of last-time-out winners to clearly post a career best effort.
His form is on a firm upward trajectory and it will be very interesting to see how Archie campaigns Highland from here.
A bargain buy from the horses in training sales at just €24,000, Highland Dress now looks sure to have Listed and Group races on his agenda for the rest of the year, this winning effort in line with the standard winning a Listed/Group 3 race would sometimes take.
He’s another fine advert for our selections from the horses in training sales and we’re looking forward to making further acquisitions with Archie this year, hopefully starting at next month’s Tattersalls February sale in which several interesting lots have already been identified by the team.
Looking ahead to Highland Dress, he looks a most exciting individual with a touch of class for his horse racing syndicate. Being a half-brother to the Group 2 runner-up and four-time Listed winner Make A Challenge, he looks a most exciting type for his owners to enjoy through 2021.
He certainly looked a class act today at Lingfield. We look forward to the progressive five-year-old’s next outing….
