If ever a horse deserved a win, it was the ultra-consistent Kingdom Of Time. A four-time runner-up this year – losing out in two photo finishes and beaten less than a length on each occasion – his win was richly deserved.
The four-year-old son of Dubawi is a good-looking horse who has held a strong level of form since making his Hambleton debut, regularly taking his horse racing syndicate to be there or thereabouts in his races.
On Saturday Luke Morris, always had Kingdom Of Time well placed at Southwell, with the pair travelling well as they prepared to make their challenge in the straight.
Once asked for his effort Kingdom found generously for pressure under Luke, and after having to wait a while for this first success ultimately won decisively, with one-and-a-half lengths to spare over his rivals at the line.
A number of Kingdom’s horse racing syndicate were in attendance to support him again at Southwell and he and Luke got a warm welcome back to the winners enclosure after their well-deserved win.
With this first career win under his belt, trainer Archie Watson will now be returning to the race programme to try and unearth another good opportunity for the son of Dubawi.
In the meantime, his owners can enjoy looking back on the replay of their lad’s maiden success!
