Kodiak Breeze wins again

The likeable Kodiak Breeze gave his owners another day to remember at Thirsk on Wednesday, when making it two wins from three starts.

The two-year-old son of Kodi Bear, sourced for just £18,000 from the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale last year, won his second race in great style to set up a possible tilt at a big prize at York’s Ebor meeting in August.

Having finished runner-up on his debut at Thirsk, Kodiak Breeze took an impressive step forward on his next start at Redcar, where he ran out an easy winner in a large field.

Saddled with a penalty for that effort as he returned to Thirsk, Kodiak Breeze was soon well placed under Shane Gray and found generously for pressure when tackled by his market rivals in the closing stages to ultimately win a share comfortably at the line.

Kevin Ryan’s £18,000 Purchase Impresses

Trainer Kevin Ryan, on hand to welcome his bargain buy back into the winners’ enclosure, was delighted to see this fine stamp of a horse win in such good style and feels he’s a horse with plenty more to offer moving forwards.

Jockey Shane Gray, aboard for all three of Kodiak Breeze’s runs feels he’s a young horse with plenty more to offer who’ll relish another furlong and easier ground later in the year and beyond.

York Ebor Meeting Target for Promising Juvenile

He looks a lovely prospect for the future and could well line up in the Harry’s Half Million sales race at York’s Ebor meeting next month, a race that offers generous prize money right down to tenth place, and a great day out for owners.

The success keeps up our fine record with Kevin from the Goffs Premier Sale, where we’ve been sourcing winners together for over 20 years.

Since 2011 we’ve been offering the chance to reserve a share in a syndicate that has provided our owners with Kevin any number quality multiple winners over the years, most notably with Washington Heights.

This year’s syndicate is now open. More details can be found via our buy racehorse shares page.
