Living The Racing Dream

20th June 2021

Racehorse ownership is all about living the racing dream. The racing dream doesn’t come much bigger than the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot, one of the biggest races of the summer.

That’s exactly where Glen Shiel’s owners found themselves on Saturday, very much on centre stage, bang amongst the action on the same stage as the Queen no less.

Owners were tremendously well looked after by Ascot and enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at one of, if not the, best race meetings in the world.

We believe that working with our top trainers it’s perfectly possible to compete in good races with intelligently bought bloodstock. £45,000 recruit Glen Shiel is very much a case in point.

The seven-year-old famously won the Champions Sprint last October in typically game fashion, giving his owners a day they’ll never forget.

Fast forward nine months and Glen and his horse racing syndicate returned to Royal Ascot hoping to see their star put up another massive performance.

Trained brilliantly by Archie Watson, Glen Shiel ran as well as he ever has done, finishing runner-up in the Group 1 contest under a beaming Hollie Doyle, who gave Glen a copybook ride as ever.

Glen received a terrific ovation from his owners as he was led into the winners’ enclosure under Archie’s watchful eye, showing just what it meant to everyone involved.

The son of Pivotal has now won over £400,000 for his owners and is all set to take in some massive Group 1's for the rest of the year.

His horse racing syndicate are living the racing dream with him and can hopefully enjoy many more memorable days this year with their top-class racehorse.
