Nifty Getaway win enc Newton Abb

Nifty’s perfect Start

16th September 2022

Nifty Getaway made the perfect start to her jumping career at Newton Abbot on Friday when making just about all the running to win well on her hurdling debut.

Partnered by leading rider Gavin Sheehan, Nifty was soon in a prominent position and jumped notably well during the early stages, establishing a nice rhythm towards the head of affairs.

An impressive winner from off the pace in a bumper last season, Nifty showed she was versatile tactically this time as she jumped hurdles for the first time in public.

Approaching the home turn in Nifty was being tracked by the strong-travelling Lady Jane P but sealed the race with a notably better jump at the last, before coming away to win in pleasing style and make the perfect start to her hurdling career for her horse racing syndicate.

This versatile and likeable mare has now won two of her four starts and looks sure to give her syndicate owners plenty of fun this year and beyond as she bids to exploit the excellent programme of mares’ races there is to target.

The win further improved our outstanding record with our National Hunt horses with Archie Watson.

To date every single one of Hambleton’s National Hunt runners has put their horse racing syndicate in the winner’s enclosure, with Nifty Getaway taking our winning strike rate to an incredible 42%!

85% of our runners finished in the prize money meaning our horse racing syndicate owners can be quietly confident of being competitive every time they go to the races.

We’re absolutely delighted with the performance of our jumping team with Archie and look forward to seeing what comes next for Nifty Getaway, who’s likely to be out and racing for her owners again soon.
