Owners boost for staff

There was a welcome boost for staff across all five of our training yards last week, as thoughtful messages from Hambleton’s owners arrived along with sweet treats for those that care for our horses.

Over the past 15 years we’ve often marvelled at what a great group of owners Hambleton are lucky enough to attract and this was once again in evidence as messages of support came flooding in from right across our ownership group.

A consistent theme across our yards was trainers reporting how touched staff were by the many thoughtful messages they received which were a timely boost for all. The chocolates went down well at break time too as staff got the chance to read through the messages from our syndicate owners.

Glen Shiel, already a winner this year, can be seen at Archie Watson’s Saxon Gate base, inspecting the arrival of the chocolates.

A very brief selection of the messages passed on to staff appears below. We hope this offers a brief taste of the boost for staff our owners provided.

A thoughtful and clearly appreciated gesture that was gratefully received by all.

I just wanted to thank you and your staff for looking after our horses in these challenging and uncertain times. I'm so missing my stable visits and the excitement of race days!

As a member of the Hambleton syndicate for the ownership of Egrecio it is heart-warming to hear continuing good reports regarding the progress and general well-being of our horse.

It is a worrying time for all to try and carry on with a normal life the best we can and more so maintaining the day to day care and devotion for Egrecio, it is really appreciated – the latest pictures and updates I have been sent are a credit to you and all concerned at the yard.

A big 'thank you' for the work you are doing in these trying times and please stay safe and well.

I would like to thank you sincerely for all the hard work that you have done and are still doing in looking after the horses for us at this most difficult of times. Hambleton are good enough to send regular updates and it is very comforting and uplifting to see how well the horses seem to be doing, I am sure that much of this is due to your efforts.

I am sure that we all hope that we will see the results on the racecourse before too long!

Just want to say how much we appreciate the efforts you all put in looking after our horses; it makes our hearts happy to know they are cared for and so well looked after in normal circumstances.

A massive 'thank-you' to Kevin & all the team for continuing to take care of Soaring Star and preparing him for what is likely to be a very strange season ahead! We really do appreciate you all being willing to leave the relative safety of your homes to take care of our horses in these unprecedented times.

Hopefully there is now light at the end of the tunnel & we will get our horses out racing again soon.

It may be some time before it is responsible & safe for us to head up to the stables again, but it's so comforting to know that Soaring Star is safe & well, & in the hands of such a professional & dedicated team.

Would just like to put on record our appreciation for all the hard work and dedication shown by all at Green Oaks at this very difficult time. Racehorse training and management is an extremely demanding life at the best of times. However, in the current period of uncertainty and worry it must be placing a tremendous strain on all involved and we just wanted to join others in putting on record our admiration for the hard work and dedication clearly shown by all.

Your working and personal lives have been thrown into a totally unknown new world, but your professionalism and that word dedication again, are showing through in spades.

It is very much appreciated by us all and we wish you every personal and collective success.
