Our talented two-year-old Praetorian gained a deserved success on Thursday, as he broken his maiden in fine style at Brighton for Archie Watson and his owners.
The son of Romanised was all the rage in the market, starting at the prohibitive odds of 1-14 to see off his rivals for his horse racing syndicate.
Nobody was going to get rich at those odds, but the race served an important purpose for Praetorian to gain his first win after a series of highly credible efforts in quality two-year-old events elsewhere.
Jumped out to race prominently, Praetorian was soon going well and when Hollie Doyle asked her mount to lengthen, he picked up to win decisively without Hollie really needing to get serious.
The win should provide a nice confidence boost for Praetorian who had finished runner-up at Newmarket and York on his last two starts before winning in style at Brighton.
With a British Horseracing Authority mark of 88 before this win, the son of Romanised had already proved himself a quality young horse and Archie Watson has some interesting targets in mind for him for the rest of the season, with a trip abroad next on the agenda for this promising colt.
We look forward to seeing how this quality individual can further advertise his talent as the season progresses.
Enjoying winning moments with quality horses like these offers a tasts of what makes syndicate ownership so special with Hambleton Racing, and why so many existing and new owners decide to buy racehorse shares with Hambleton. As ever, we believe our current team of new horses is stacked with potential for more big moments.
In the weeks ahead we’ll be hoping our many bargain buys, can once again highlight their merit and continue to give our horse racing syndicates a great experience around the racecourse of Great Britain.
