Reason off the mark
16th February 2021
A productive start to the Flat season got even better at Newcastle this evening as Sound Reason got off the mark in the final race on the card.
The winner is a good-looking horse with plenty to offer going forward and made his third start a winning one in pleasing style under Kevin Stott.
The son of Hot Streak made just about all the running and despite showing evidence of his inexperience during the final quarter mile, he was always comfortably holding on from the well supported runner-up.
At the line Sound Reason had one-and-a-half lengths to spare and jockey Kevin Stott was delighted with his winning effort after the race.
An imposing sort, Sound Reason looks the type with a good bit more to offer and looks sure to give his horse racing syndicate plenty of fun throughout the year.
We’ve been enjoying winners with Kevin Ryan since we first started offering syndicated ownership so it was very much business as usual at Newcastle as Sound Reason got off the mark.
With a lovely team of horses once again assembled at Hambleton Lodge, he’ll surely be the first of many winners our owners enjoy with Kevin Ryan this year.
