Ribble River winners enc

Ribble wins well

It was great to see Ribble River win well at Carlisle yesterday for his horse racing syndicate and the Kevin Ryan team.

The son of Ribchester has taken a little bit of time to find his feet but a recent step up in trip and some patience from his trainer Kevin Ryan and helped him step forward and progress his form on recent starts.

Settled in behind the pace by Oisin McSweeney, Ribble River was always moving quite well, settled in behind the leaders.

As the race developed in the home straight, space was at something of a premium and Oisin and Ribble had to bide their time before producing a telling challenge up the Carlisle hill to ultimately win quite decisively to the delight of his owners.

Many of Ribble’s horse racing syndicate were at Carlisle alongside the Hambleton team to enjoy the moment as their horse recorded his first success.

Ribble River is quite a big boy and being by a sire whose stock tend to improve with age, it came as little surprise to hear Oisin express the opinion that there was further progress to come from the likeable winner. Oisin felt his mount was still a little green and would improve with more racing as he matures.

With Ribble winning well and hitting the line strongly at Carlisle, it seems a fairly safe bet that he’ll have many more good days ahead as he grows into his frame and progresses as he learns more about racing going forward

We look forward to seeing how this likeable three-year-old can progress from here under the expert guidance of Kevin Ryan.

His win further improves Hambleton Racing’s excellent record for buying winning racehorses from the breeze-up sales.

This being yet another such winner for us alongside Kevin Ryan and his excellent team.
