Richard’s Hackathon
7th July 2019
Ride 100 miles in a hundred days. That’s the challenge that one of our owners is embracing to support Brooke, a charity the provides action for working horses and donkeys across the world.
The MyHackathon challenge is empowering horse men and women across the country to step up to the plate to raise vital funds for Brooke. The appeal is being supported by Charlotte Dujardin, Britain’s most successful dressage rider ever.
Pictured above enjoying a winner at Thirsk last year, Richard, an owner in this year’s winners Magical Spirit and Whoshotthesheriff, has been an owner with Hambleton for longer than he probably cares to remember!
As an owner, Richard’s interest in horses and their welfare has often shone through, whether it’s been in and around his own horses or while visiting the likes of Darley Stud and Banstead Manor with us.
With this in mind it’s perhaps no surprise to see Richard dedicating time to Brooke’s worthwhile cause. Of course, he’s not alone for the challenge as Teddy, Richard’s 25-year-old welsh pony, is very much up for the challenge too.
The good news is the pair are well on their way to completing the challenge but now need a little help to reach their fund-raising target of £100.
If you think you could help Richard please do get in touch with us.
By his own admission, Richard is not hugely computer savvy so would prefer cheques if possible, made payable to ‘Brooke’ at: Mr. R. Perry, 34 Meadow Close, HOLT, NR25 6JP.
If you no longer use a cheque book but would like to support Richard please do let us know and we'll happily act as intermediaries to ensure Richard's appeal receives your support.
