Road remains unbeaten

30th October 2022

Grove Road produced a seriously promising display on his hurdling debut at Carlisle today and remains unbeaten under rules.

Successful on his bumper debut last season, Grove Road raced prominently on his first look at hurdles in public and jumped notably well for Adam Wedge out of the testing ground.

He held a prominent position as the race began to develop and then found generously under Adam to hold on well from the well-backed favourite, £75,000 recruit The King Of Ryhope.

The pair pulled over ten lengths clear of the rest of the field with both horses impressing as nice types as they came well clear of their rivals.

In behind were some other expensive recruits from the pointing field such as the fourth home Regarde, who made £90,000 in the sales ring after winning an Irish point.

At £27,000, Grove was one of the cheapest members of the field in what looked a very interesting novice hurdle and is yet another feather in the cap of our buying team, who pride themselves on trying to secure bargains for our owners whatever the code.

Grove Road gave Adam Wedge a great feel today and is likely to upped in grade for his next start with a trip to Cheltenham possibly on the cards all being well.

Days at Cheltenham are what all National Hunt enthusiasts dream of, and it will be very exciting if Grove Road can take his horse racing syndicate racing to Cheltenham later this year.

For now, his owners can revel in the fact that Grove Road remains unbeaten for them and that they clearly have a very nice horse on their hands.

Grove’s win improves our staggeringly good jump statistics further with Archie Watson, who along with wife Brodie - a key player in the management of our jumpers - is producing some breath-taking results for our owners.

Since we turned our attention to the jumping game with Archie an incredible 50% of our National Hunt horses have been successful, with all but two of those beaten finishing in the prize money.

It’s a staggering record and with some further notable talent to unleash this winter, we’re very hopeful the great results can continue to roll for our owners.
