Runner newsIt promises to be a very exciting day for Company Asset’s owners on Wednesday as their filly heads to Saint-Cloud to run in The Prix Dahlia (2.35, local time) for a ten furlong Listed race.
Company Asset is one of eight declared runners in the race and has been drawn in stall three. Tom Eaves will be flying over on Wednesday to take the ride.
The daughter of Fast Company has come out of her recent impressive win at Haydock very well. The team have been delighted with her at home and she has worked well at home ahead of the weekend.
We are of course stepping into unknown territory in France, travelling abroad for the first time at a late stage of the year.
It looks a very competitive race on paper as you would expect for a Listed race.
Of Company Asset’s opponents, another English raider travels across the water in Luca Cumani’s Rosental. She is a smart filly in her own right, already a Listed winner and Group placed. Beaten less than five lengths when the winner pulled three lengths clear in a Group 2 last time out, she’s a seasoned traveller and warrants a huge amount of respect.
Meliroa is the highest rated mare in the race and is hugely consistent. She’s previously won two Listed races and is Group placed. She handles the slower ground and is a big contender.
Another French-trainer runner, Happy Approach, stays further than today’s trip but looks to have her best form on a slightly sounder surface. A Group and Listed placed filly, she has had a break since her last start. If fully tuned up, she has place claims at worst.
This is a very exciting opportunity for Company Asset and we’re all really looking forward to be lining up for a race like this. Having won in great style at Haydock last time, she certainly warrants her chance and should have the ground to suit.
With this in mind we head to France excited and hopeful of a big run from Company Asset on Wednesday. For those interested in watching the race live, we have been led to believe Attheraces will be covering the race.
