We have another runner in action for Kevin Ryan’s stable on Sunday with one runner heading to Scotland for Hamilton’s opening fixture.
The likeable Wild Hope makes his second start of the year in the Mansionbet Proud To Support British Racing Handicap (4.25) over one mile. He is one of seven runners, drawn in stall three and Kevin Stott is booked to ride.
Wild Hope has been in great nick at Hambleton Lodge since his promising seasonal return at Newcastle earlier this month and Kevin is pleased with his current well-being. He seems to be in good form at present and has faired well at this track in the past. Kevin is hopeful with luck in running, he can have his say in the outcome here.
It looks a tightly knit affair despite the small field with a few holding strong claims. Of these, Jackhammer would look to have an obvious chance having just failed to get up at Ayr on Tuesday over this trip. He is turned out here ahead of a likely rise in the handicap and if remaining on song, he could well be the one to beat from the bottom of the handicap whilst seemingly well treated.
Of the others, Delph Crescent has enjoyed a fruitful start to the year, scoring twice at Southwell on the fibresand. This rival has won from a higher mark in the past and certainly comes into calculations while the consistent Howzer Black can’t be confidently ruled out. He too was narrowly beaten at Ayr earlier in the week and is rarely out of the frame. It would be no surprise to see him involved in the finish here too having scored at Hamilton in the past.
Wild Hope seems to be in decent shape at home and Kevin is hopeful that granted some luck in running, he can be involved in the business end of this race.
We’d like to wish all of his connections the best of luck for Sunday’s race.
