Zumaaty relaxing at Hillwood Stud

Runner News

3rd May 2021

Our busy spell continues on Tuesday with one runner from Archie Watson’s Upper Lambourn stable heading to Wolverhampton’s night meeting.

Three-year-old Zumaaty is in action again in the Sky Sports Racing On Sky 415 Handicap (6.00) over the extended mile. He is one of 13 runners, drawn in stall seven and Joanna Mason, who seemed to get a fine tune out of him last time, is booked to ride.

Zumaaty seems to have come out of his recent run at Brighton in good nick at Saxon Gate and he seems to remain in decent form ahead of this next outing. Archie felt that it was worth chancing taking in another quick run before being reassessed by the handicapper after his solid second last week and he is hopeful that he can be right in the mix again here.

That said, it’s very competitive for the grade with a plenty holding claims and potential improvers to boot. Of these, Omany Amber has an obvious chance having scored over course and distance last month. She has posted some solid efforts on the all-weather winning three of her last five starts and remains well treated at present. There could be more to come from this rival and she could be the one to beat here.

Of the others, Cathayensis is another who could be bang there and recently won on her handicap debut at Newcastle. She represents an in-form yard and the step up in trip here could well bring further improvement from her making her a live threat while My Boy Frankie is one to note on his handicap debut. He ran with credit on his first two starts before running over a trip seemingly too short last time at Pontefract and he could figure back on an all-weather surface here.

Carpentier, a €67,000 yearling, will surely prove better than his current rating while Invincible Soldier is another dark horse to seriously respect.

Zumaaty seems to be fresh and well in himself since just being touched off last time and Archie hopes if handling the swift return, he can post another creditable effort.

We’d like to wish all of his connections the best of luck for Tuesday’s race.
