Runner News

1st August 2022

Cotai Star kicks the week off as he makes a return to Chelmsford on Tuesday for the Archie Watson team.

Cotai will be lining up in the Family Fun Day 14th August Handicap (6:40) over one mile and two furlongs and is one of ten runners. He is drawn in stall nine and the excellent Hollie Doyle is booked to ride.

Archie has been happy with Cotai at home as he prepares him accordingly for his next start of the campaign and now back in calmer waters and in handicap company, he is hopeful we can see him run to a more competitive level.

It looks to be a pretty open heat with plenty of Cotai’s rivals looking to get their heads in front.

Fifty Sent has only had the three runs and makes his handicap debut taking the step up in trip this time. He is out of a black type mare and finished third when last seen earlier this month. He is one to keep a close eye on as he makes his way into handicap company.

Easy With Aces makes his debut for his new yard and was just touched off over course and distance on his penultimate start. Connections have opted to take three pounds off his back and he could be one to watch as he looks to get his head in front this time round.

Bazalgette has plenty of experience under his belt and has shown two promising efforts since wind surgery back in March. He takes the step back up in trip and is an interesting contender as he makes his debut on the all-weather surface.

Cotai appears to be in good nick ahead of this race on Tuesday evening and Archie is hopeful that with some luck in running, he can be competitive on his handicap debut

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of Cotai Star’s connections the very best of luck for Tuesday’s race.
