Thursday sees us back in action on the all-weather at Newcastle with the First Snowfall who takes her chances in the Top Odds Every Day With Betuk Classified Stakes (1.15).

This classified race, for horses aged four-years-old and upwards is due to be run over a distance of 10 furlongs. Snowfall is one of 11 runners in the race, drawn in stall 11, with Taylor Fisher booked to take a valuable five pounds off her back.

Snowfall has been in good nick since her latest outing at Chelmsford last week, where she rather lost her chance at the start. Archie is hoping that if reproducing her recent homework on the track, that she will be more than capable of being competitive in this contest at Gosforth Park.

Looking at the race on paper, as expected there are plenty of horses that have been running recently looking to get their heads in front.

The likely favourite, Calcutta Dream scored comfortably in Snowfall’s race at Chelmsford last week. He did it in a most comfortable fashion and although having to carry a penalty in this contest, he is a horse in form and will take all the beating if reproducing a similar effort.

Mister Falsetto ran a decent race off the back off a lay-off last time out over course and distance. He should’ve come on from that, and if appreciating the classified company should be more than capable of being competitive having run some decent races earlier in the year off an inflated mark.

Of the others, Big Dutchie has been a pretty consistent performer the autumn and winter period however the mile and a half looked to stretch his stamina last time and he should appreciate the drop back to 10 furlongs. In this sort of company, he should once again be in the mix if getting the rub of the green.
Snowfall is in good nick ahead of this contest on Thursday afternoon, and Archie is hopeful for a decent showing if she can put everything together on track, notably by breaking better in the early stages of the race.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish First Snowfall and all her connections the very best of luck for Thursday’s race.
