We kick the week off with more Jump action as Spot Of Bother makes his second start for Archie Watson’s Lambourn team.

He runs in division two of the Bet £10 Get £10 At Planetsportbet Novices' Hurdle (2.00) at Hereford, is one of nine runners lining up and will again be partnered by the experienced Nick Scholfield.

Archie reports Spot to be in good shape after his first start over hurdles earlier this month and for all, these may not be his optimum conditions moving forwards, he is hopeful that he can take a step forward with that initial experience under his belt.

On paper, despite the race splitting this still looks a decent heat with a couple of Jump racing’s powerhouse stables represented here. Of these, Bhaloo is an obvious contender and carries a penalty for an easy Doncaster hurdles win over the Christmas period. This rival holds a graded entry at Cheltenham in March and it would be no surprise to see him able to defy the penalty to register win number two over hurdles.

Don’t Tell Su was a bumper winner at Chepstow in April and two solid efforts to date over timber make him a likely front player while Menaggio could be open to plenty of improvement if able to jump better this time. He ran to a decent level at Plumpton last month despite appearing quite green and could well be in the frame again here.

Spot seems to have come forward for his Wincanton debut and Archie is hoping that he can post an improved effort here as he gains more valuable racecourse experience.

We’d like to wish all of Spot Of Bother’s connections the best of luck for Monday’s race.
