Spartan Arrow owners Epsom

Sales ring bargains on fire!

We’re no stranger to sales ring bargains and clearly have another on our hands in Spartan Arrow who won his second race of the season in the first race of Epsom’s 2025 season.

Racing over one of the fastest five-furlong tracks in the world, Spartan Arrow showed immediate bright speed, soon racing in front rank under Hollie Doyle.

From there he travelled powerfully and when Hollie asked him to go and win his race the response was immediate as the five-year-old put comfortable distance between himself and his toiling pursuers.

At the line Spartan Arrow, a 17,000gns purchase last October, had two-and-a-half lengths to spare, becoming just the third horse in the last 15 years to win an Epsom five-furlong handicap by more than two lengths.

This was a really noteworthy performance from a speedy horse who appears to be gaining in confidence all the time.

Spartan Arrow and Hollie received a great reception as they came back into Epsom’s famous winners’ enclosure where they were greeted by their delighted horse racing syndicate.

He’ll next be in action at York’s Dante meeting while a return trip to Epsom for the Dash on Derby Day is another date for the diary for his excited owners.

The success built on a great few days for some of our sales ring bargains with Exoplanet running a massive first race in the Hambleton silks in the Listed Magnolia Stakes at Kempton on Monday.

Running in a red-hot Listed race, our 18,000gns recruit Exoplanet looked to need a career best effort on his debut to feature but produced exactly that as he followed home the 111-rated Military Order in a very strong field.

This was an outstanding training performance by Archie Watson who has further Listed race action in mind next for the son of Sea The Stars next at Goodwood, while a trip to Royal Ascot has also been mentioned for the Wolferton Stakes. His horse racing syndicate clearly have much to look forward to.

To complete a memorable start to the week Perfectly Timed (20,000gns) built on his reappearance promise when running out a tidy winner of the mile-and-a-half handicap at Thirsk on Tuesday night, relishing the step up in trip.

Our latest winner was always well placed under William Cox, who produced an excellent ride as he pulled on the Hambleton silks for the first time and was clearly delighted to make a winning start for us.

As William unsaddled, he was able to explain just how he had navigated an excellent trip around Thirsk and also what a good attitude the son of Time Test had shown for pressure in the closing stages.

Archie Watson reports all three horses have come out of their respective races well and that he expects them to be out and racing again for their horse racing syndicates next month as they bid to enhance their excellent starts to the season.
