Sheriff’s impressive debut
2nd January 2019
It was the perfect start for connections of Whoshotthesheriff at Ayr on Wednesday as he posted a smooth success on his very first start in the Hambleton Silks.
A decent bumper performer in Ireland, he proved an impressive winner on his hurdling debut, travelling powerfully throughout and jumping fluently to score on his first start over timber.
Under the experienced handling of Sean Quinlan, Sheriff went about the job in a very professional manner, finishing strongly to win going away by two-and-a-half lengths from the two market principles.
This imposing son of Dylan Thomas certainly looks the type that would do really well over hurdles, and in time fences. Connections can now look forward to an exciting jumping campaign with him.
Sheriff is likely to be back in action later this month as bids to make it a perfect two out of two over hurdles.
In the meantime, congratulations must go to all of his connections on this impressive hurdling debut success!
