Soaring an easy winner
8th February 2022
It was great to provide more of our owners with that winning feeling as Soaring Star was an easy winner at Southwell tonight.
Phil Kirby’s horse has been in great order of late, filling the frame on his last few starts and was gaining a well-deserved success at Southwell, a track where he is building an impressive record.
Settled well in the early stages by regular pilot Graham Lee, Soaring moved through the race smoothly and could be seen travelling notably well as the field entered the straight.
Graham guided Soaring Star to the outside to make his challenge and the response was fairly immediate as Soaring ran down the long-time front-runner before quickly putting his seal on the race.
After hitting the front, the pair went on to clear right away in the closing stages, hitting the line well and being full value for a winning margin of three lengths.
Those owners present from Soaring’s horse racing syndicate gave him a warm welcome into the winners’ enclosure as their horse secured a third win in his last nine starts.
A famous winner of Racing Welfare’s Clock Tower Cup at Doncaster last year, Soaring continues in great form and is seemingly hardly ever out of the prize money these days.
He’s proving a great fun horse to be involved with and may well be in action again at Southwell next week.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
