Sound firmly on the up

27th May 2022

Sound Reason looks a sprinter firmly on the up after his fourth career win at Haydock yesterday.

Our imposing son of Hot Streak is progressive and was picking up from where he left off last season at the Newton-Le-Willows track, ultimately winning in cosy fashion to the delight of his horse racing syndicate.

Running over the minimum trip, Sound Reason was held up travelling strongly through the first half of the race before showing both a good turn of gear and attitude to reel in the runner-up close home under a typically cool Kevin Stott ride.

Sound Reason received a rousing reception from his horse racing syndicate that had travelled so see him, before owners received a full debrief from both Kevin Ryan and Kevin Stott on Sound’s return to the winners’ enclosure.

The four-year-old is another example of the excellent handling of Kevin Ryan with these older sprinting types that just seem to get better with age. A quality sprinter already, Sound Reason is developing into a lovely individual who his owners look sure to enjoy plenty more memorable days with going forwards.

Both trainer and jockey are in agreement that this should be the start of another fruitful campaign for Sound Reason, one of the biggest horses in Kevin’s Hambleton Lodge stables, and a sprinter firmly on the up.

For now though, we can revel in our eye-catching chestnut’s latest success ahead of what we hope and expect will be another enjoyable season for Sound Reason and his owners.
