Tempus our latest miracle horse

There were some terrific scenes in the winners enclosure at Ascot on Saturday as our latest miracle horse Tempus won the £50,000 Porsche handicap in decisive style.

Last year’s 25,000gns August horses in training recruit was saddled with top weight after his fine third in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot but despite conceding lumps of weight all round Tempus travelled by far the best, before kicking clear to win decisively under Hollie Doyle.

Having finished runner-up twice at Listed level already for his owners, Tempus posted a career best effort here, earning a Timeform rating of 116 for his success.

That level of form is good enough to be a big player in Listed and Group races which suggests Tempus and his horse racing syndicate have some great days ahead to look forward to.

Tempus is our latest miracle horse secured from the in-training sales, producing Group class form after being bought cheaply by our buying team.

Glen Shiel (118) and Outbox (115) are previous examples of horses that have thrived in big races after joining us, both winning Group 1 races for their delighted horse racing syndicates.

With a Timeform rating of 116 Tempus has now earned his chance to step back into some lofty company too.

It’s great to see his wonderful group of owners enjoying success at a high level.

With Saturday’s win a career best effort for Tempus, there could yet be more to come from one of the best bred horses in training.

By Kingman out of Group 1 winner Passage Of Time, Tempus is a half brother to a Group 1 winner and is now producing performances in line with his pedigree.

Of course, huge credit for this latest success has to go to trainer Archie Watson who has once again done a remarkable job with our latest miracle horse.
