Hambleton Racing trainer Philip Kirby is very talented dual-purpose trainer who’s provided some great results for our jump horse syndicates.
Best known for his big National Hunt winners. Phil has also enjoyed many good days on the Flat too.
Phil began training point-to-pointers, announcing his arrival with a bang in his first season when saddling seven winners from his four horses to become the leading hunter chase trainer in the country.
A 2013 move to Middleham saw Phil saddle his maiden half century and first Listed winner. However, Phil had always wanted to train from his own yard and realised that ambition in June 2016 when moving to Green Oaks Farm, near Catterick, where he trains today.
Re-developing the farm into an excellent National Hunt yard took time and a lot of hard work. The results are there for all to see, with Phil training stacks of winners from his impressive facilities.
Green Oaks Farm boasts both turf and all-weather gallops, lots of quality turn out, not to mention the excellent schooling facilities and hacking options.
Since established at Green Oaks Phil has gone from strength to strength, winning plenty of big races among the many winners he regularly trains.
A renowned hard-worker, Phil understands what it means to own a racehorse and has built his training operation up from scratch. He's usually up at the crack of dawn to feed the horses, regularly rides out and sometimes drives the tractor.
Phil prides himself on treating each horse as an individual and developing a bespoke routine for each horse whilst keeping a close eye on their progress. The results are there for all to see.
"Hambleton Racing are one of the leading horse racing syndicates in the country. They are very professional and look after their owners very well. We've enjoyed some great results together and I'm looking forward to plenty more."
