NIKOVO ridden by David Nolan wins at AYR 22/5/24

Two more winners

The good results just keep coming, with Churchella and Nikovo providing two more winners for our owners in recent days.

It’s been a memorable first half of the year highlighted by the fact that Hambleton Racing are the only syndicate to have provided their owners with a Group race winner in Britain so far in 2024, and not just one but two of them for good measure.

Beneath the headline wins for Outbox and Washington Heights there have been a further 27 successes for Hambleton’s owners to toast, the latest coming at Doncaster and Ayr.

Churchella is quickly becoming one of the more progressive handicappers in training this year and took her form to a new level when in great style at Doncaster at the weekend, travelling stylishly under the in-form Mark Winn before coming clear in the closing stages.

A well-bred filly who’s really coming good this year, progressing from a mark in the low 50’s to high 70’s, this was a fifth win for Churchella’s owners to celebrate and the good news is trainer David O’Meara thinks there is more to come again.

On Wednesday it was the turn of Nikovo to win well, as he came home in taking style to win impressively under David Nolan at Ayr.

The win was especially sweet as last time out Nikovo had been denied his hattrick when almost put through the rail in the closing stages at Leicester.

David Nolan and Nikovo were lucky to escape injury on that occasion and confirmed just how unlucky they had been by trouncing some in-form rivals on this first start at Ayr, making it three wins for the year in the process.

Both these in-form horses hold entries within the next week and are likely to be out and racing again soon for their owners, bidding to further improve their impressive recent record.

In the meantime, we can toast two more winners for their respective horse racing syndicates.
