horse racing syndicate Hambleton Racing Hollie Doyle

Vote Hollie!

20th December 2020

There is the potential for yet another massive winner for Hollie Doyle tonight, as she joins the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Tyson Fury on the BBC’s Sports Personality Of The Year live broadcast.

A winner in France for Archie Watson on Saturday kept the momentum rolling on the racecourse as Hollie rode her 148th winner of the year at Deauville.

Momentum has also been building off the racecourse all week as an outpouring of support for Hollie from across racing and the wider sporting world gathers pace.

So could it really happen? Could racing’s star of 2020 see off fellow record-breakers like Lewis Hamilton and Ronnie O’Sullivan?

If the bookmakers are right the answer is a definite ‘maybe’. Having been matched at a high of 200 on Betfair’s exchange, Hollie was generally a 33-1 chance a week ago but as support has grown her odds have contracted to around 3-1 at the time of writing.

Odds-on favourite Lewis Hamilton is expected to lift the famous trophy tonight but it’s just possible Hollie could upset the odds again and land what would be a hugely popular win.

Voting opens when the show goes live at 8pm this evening. Viewers can vote by calling the number advertised on the BBC this evening or via the BBC website, if registered, which is free.

We’d urge all friends of Hambleton to vote for Hollie tonight whilst watching SPOTY, and tell friends to vote too.

Hollie’s success has been a breath of fresh air in the most challenging of years. Her story will doubtless inspire a new generation of racing fans and engage lots more people towards our great sport.

It’s a monumental achievement to have made the final and everyone is rooting for Hollie to make it into the final three and, who knows, maybe even enjoy another massive winner.

It’s been an incredible run of results on the racecourse, and our horse racing syndicate owners have hugely enjoyed the ride, with Hollie achieving great success for them in Doha, France, Ireland and of course at home in Britain too.

Glen Shiel’s Group 1 success at Ascot came under a typically fantastic ride from Hollie, typifying her immense talent.

Throughout all her achievement Hollie has been the same person and a delight to have riding in our beige and blue silks.

We’ll all be tuning in this evening to hope that Hollie can achieve yet another fantastic result in what has been the most memorable of years for one of racing’s brightest stars.
