Watchable’s tenth win at 10
11th September 2020
Hambleton’s team captain continues in rude health this season. The amazing Watchable recorded his tenth win at 10 years young in the beige and blue last night at Chelmsford, showed his younger rivals a clean pair of heels in the process.
This evergreen son of Pivotal was registering his first victory at the Essex track and did so in fine style giving weight all round under a cool Adam Kirby ride.
Showing his usual early speed Watchable was always towards the fore and made his challenge from the home turn to scoot away for a cosy win by one and-a-half-lengths at the line.
The old boy has given his owners plenty of fun over the years, breaking the track record when winning at Epsom on Derby day last year was a particular highlight, and he still looks to be enjoying his race as much as ever.
Watchable is showing no signs that he is ready for an easy life just yet and has returned this season as good as ever.
This latest victory at Chelmsford took his tally of wins to ten in our silks, while this was his third success of 2020 having won at Wolverhampton earlier in the year and more recently at Thirsk in August.
Watchable’s tenth win at 10 is a fine achievement and David O’Meara’s Yorkshire team deserve huge credit for keeping him in such fine form at the ripe old age of ten.
It’s certainly been another stellar season for his horse racing syndicate, who won’t have long to wait before he is in action again as he turns out at Chelmsford on Sunday.
However he gets on this weekend, Watchable will continue to give his lucky owners more great days of racing to enjoy as he looks to add to his ever-growing tally of wins in the Hambleton silks.
